How did your passion for traveling get started?
As I had been pictured in Jordan, before I had been born, I need to mention! I was lucky to have intrepid parents so to them a family holiday involved going to the Gambia instead of somewhere. They were put off by the simple fact that a military coup was !
Just how are you currently traveling in any given year? What are the kinds?
Until I was 20 when I moved off to Thailand with a few 28, I didn’t actually discover the love. It was on this trip that I realised experience other people’s cultures and I wanted to travel as much as I can.
Your travel blog, An Adventurous World, has been created after several years of traveling in 2014. It has won awards and was featured in publications around the globe. So what would you attribute its success?
I’m on the street for approximately 6 weeks of the year and ittravelling across the whole world. I always love exploring but that I adore Southeast Asia and South America too. I have a certain soft spot for all those two regions and am always glad going back there.
Before becoming a traveler and blogger you started out researching and worked as a journalist and then a travel writer. What was that travel like? Is there anything you wish you had known?
Very good question! Frankly, it’s been a lot of hard work through the years to even get to this point, and I am tiny in contrast to other bloggers/vloggers out there. But I tried to inform the way things are and also to discover the positivity in anywhere I go .
One of your most unique blog posts is just one where you talk about various approaches you’ve”f***ed up” while traveling, such as a disease you picked up in Bangladesh, getting your camera stolen at Colombia, and more. Why is it essential for you to discuss these moments with your subscribers?
I think it would have been easy to study photography or film in uni rather than biochemistry although it’s simple to mention over a decade!
What do you want viewers learn and to attain from your work?
Saying that, biochemistry gave a really analytical mind which helped with all the journalism and travel journalism to me, and I’ve carried that through into blogging too. I always make sure I write in a way that is really easy to digest.
What are the top three destinations you’ve seen?
In the modern Instagram-driven society everyone thinks life’s perfect, I think. And when it is not, it ought to be.
Give us your’Top 5′ list for one of your top 3 destinations. Like a list of sorts or a mini-guide. It may be anything in your favourite hotel, best place to get lunch, best sightseeing, etc..
Life isn’t like this at all. It’s a trip with lots of ups and downs and experiences on the way. I think it very important to share those downs with people to empathise with them. I’ve always found if something goes wrong than simply taking it easy on a beach somewhere, I’ve heard a lot more about myself! Life is not perfect, I am certainly not perfect, and I think it’s very important to record this and remind folks that that’s okay.
How many nations have you seen so far?
I need to inspire the entire world see and to travel. There are so many amazing cultures and adventures out there — I’m glad, if I can get folks do find that out for themselves!
What are your top 3 favourite perfumes?
This is such a tough question but I am not one to sit around the fence. I would say India Greenland and Colombia.
What’s your favourite restaurant in the world? What dish would you advocate?
For Greenland, I would say:
What’s your favourite traveling movie?
I think I’m at the 77 mark? Around that number.
What’s your global airport?
Italian, thai, Indian.
I am delighted with some of these.
Which city had the most friendly people?
Disfrutar in Barcelona.
It had been recently voted as the 9th best restaurant on the planet. I had a 27-course banquet, when I had been there and it was. Frankly, it’s just so so good. Worth seeing with Barcelona just.
Who is your favourite traveling companion?
Into the Wild.
What a movie that is (makes me cry each time too…)
What’s the perfect way to kill time?
Changi International Airport in Singapore is excellent (a clear choice), but the small airport in Cornwall, UK, is superb too. You’re able to get off the airplane to your hire car in less than 10 minutes — not many areas where you may accomplish this!
What’s the most exotic place your livelihood has taken you?
I would say the folks in Copenhagen. I always have an remarkable time there and I love partying with the locals.
What’s your best bit of traveling tips for someone who wishes to, or is going to, embark on a life of traveling?
This is an easy one. My fiancé and traveling blogger Wanderlust Chloe!
What are without?
I’d likely say listening and reading to songs. I wish I was not on my cellphone so much but that definitely will come with the work.
What’s your dream destination?
Perhaps Raja Ampat in Indonesia?
It’s one of the pristine and most beautiful areas in the world, very secluded and difficult to reach. That was an actual”pinch me” second.
What’s your favourite traveling quotation?
Make sure that you do it. I see folks wanting to become bloggers these days to make money. You need to want to be a blogger to the love of telling tales, not to the money.
Where are you headed?
Always a fantastic question! My camera, phone (mostly for the audio ), Kindle plus laptop? Because when I need to change off from it all then that is the very first thing I visit, when I am travelling in my my Kindle is my most prized possession.
I would say somewhere like Ecuador which has a bit of what — the big cosmopolitan cities with restaurants, lovely beaches and a few other experiences like trekking Cotopaxi volcano. Oh, then there is the Galapagos Islands! Though that is for sure, I would love to do another lengthy trip!
